Some more very random things from Okinawa!!!

One of my favorite things here on the island are the funny signs (they are written in what we like to call engrish, english with a twist!!) or the names of Japanese items. So here are a few of my favorites.

Sniggles, the name just makes me laugh!! And I don't think you can read the price tag, but they are 525 yen, about $5.00 a box, don't they sound appetizing!!!

Now here is a product with a name everyone will just run right out and buy!!!!

Can you even image paying roughly $4.00 a can for a can of pringles!!!

Still not sure if this is supposed to be "Protected or Protection Green Barrier Zone"!!!!!
I love the "Please do not touch it with a monkey", it still makes me laugh every time I see it, and  it has become a great joke among all of us!! So always remember to not touch it with a monkey!!

This is one from the Expressway, make sure to pay attention to the winds so that you do not tip your car over!!! It is really a problem for them, they have windsocks on the expressway in open areas because the crosswinds will flip their little cars, something to be said for oversized American vehicles!!!!
We came across this one the other night at Kareoke, wouldn't everyone want an air conditioner/dehumidifier thats name is a "cleanpoo" don't you feel  that your air is cleaner already!!!!

The next set of pictures is the price of our produce, it is not really funny, but it is so ridiculous that you just have to laugh!!!  So needless to say we will not be having any fruit salads anytime soon!!!

Just some funny things I thought I would share from our little island in the Pacific!!
We are also getting really excited to see Mom/Gram in only three weeks now!!!!
Hope everyone is doing well, we miss you all!!

Time to say goodbye!!

Well this is the part about  the military life I don't enjoy, it is time to say goodbye to a wonderful family who we love and has been there for us, and we have enjoyed spending time with!!

The Snyders are moving to Virginia Beach, and we are going to miss them terribly!!
But we are looking forward to the first Yatetonleaders (it is a combination of all of our last names, Yates, Clakleys, Mortons and the Snyders a nickname that was made up and stuck!!!) vacation together in the summer of '09!!!!
We are very blessed and thank God often for the wonderful people he has continued to bring in to our lives every where we have moved, it has made this crazy journey in the military a truly enjoyable adventure!!
                              !

Hi from Very Hot Okinawa!!!!

Hi All,

Well we have been trying to enjoy all that the island has to offer without melting in the process!!
It is so incredibly hot here, it makes FL and TX seem like a walk in the park!!! But we are still pressing on and spending alot of time at the pool and the beach!!!!!

Beautiful day at Torii Beach, and Ken enjoying
the new umbrellas and chairs they just put in!!!!

You gotta love a sign that warns you of
jellyfish!!!
My favorite shot of summer so far!!!!!!

And also with the summer comes the most wonderful sunsets and skies here, so I drag the family down to the seawall almost nightly to see what shots I can get.

We also went and checked out Shuri Castle, it was quite interesting to learn the history of the castle and to actually see the walls that the US Naval warships pounded for weeks off the coast and were never able to destroy. And speaking of the heat, funny side note never would you had me believe that my favorite souvenirs from our various outings would be sweat towels!!!
As you can see in the pics below we are all wearing one!!!! It will be fun to look back on one day, when we move and run across them and remember where we got them!!!!

Its a good thing Ken didn't have to live in the castle he would have had a headache all the time!!

Maddie in the Throne Room

Well I guess that will do it for now, we hope everyone is enjoying their summers, and we are so excited that Mom will be here in 4 weeks to help us continue to enjoy ours!!!!
We love and miss you all!!!!

Maddie's swim meets and some other random happenings....

Hi All,
Things here on our lovely little rock are extremely hot but good!!!! We had an earthquake on Tuesday, Maddie and I didn't feel a thing we were at the pool getting ready for her 2nd swim meet. But Ken said that the whole hangar shook, I can't decided if I am happy or sad that I haven't felt one since we have been here!!!!
LOL
So things that are new here, Miss Maddie has been swimming on the Okinawa Dolphins swim team and she has had two meets so far and has done rather well for herself!!!

Since the last post Ken and I also celebrated our 16th wedding anniversary and spent a wonderful day together with Maddie. We were hoping to go on a sunset dinner cruise that night but the weather didn't want to cooperate, but that is OK we were together and that was all that mattered!!!

Even after 16yrs and 8,000 miles from home I still love him!!!

Well that is about it for now, will try to  keep up with my blogging, hope everyone is doing well.
We miss you all!!
